About
Delayed Waters is a self-taught, Ukrainian-American artist and musician making work at the intersection of dreams and memory. Rooted in the landscapes we love and the ones we’ve lost, their paintings explore how places become imprinted on us, from childhood corners of safety to regions forever changed by history. These dreamscapes become acts of remembrance and celebration, honoring both the intimate and the collective. Each painting offers a moment of peace while acknowledging the weight of places we can no longer return to, except through memory.
Delayed Waters paints these dreamscapes from imagination, energetic channeling, and personal nostalgia, as well as the shared memory of places transformed by political forces whose futures have been rewritten by conflict. These paintings are quiet acts of resistance against forgetting.
Each painting carries a spell or blessing woven into its colors: a wish for safety, a prayer for resilience, a charm for those who have been scattered far from home. These dreamscapes become vessels of remembrance, holding both the tenderness of what was and the hope for what might one day return.
